Howell, MI — October 12, 2023 – Chem-Trend, a company of the Freudenberg Chemical Specialities Group and a global leader in the development of high-quality release agents, purging compounds, and other process chemicals and additives, has announced their participation as an exhibitor at the Rubber Division, American Chemical Society, International Elastomer Conference (IEC) in Cleveland, Ohio, October 16-19. Dr. Keith Korthals, who leads Chem-Trend’s global rubber research and development lab, will be attending IEC to share more about the new product line directly with customers and partners in the industry.
Chem-Trend joins the conference following its recent announcement that it is on track to successfully eliminate PFAS from its product portfolio by the end of 2023. The company has additionally committed to achieving the same standards in relation to future acquisitions.
“The concern of PFAS use within the rubber industry and many others has been an area of focus for us for years. Devoting time, lab resources and expertise from our global R&D teams have allowed for the development and testing of alternative chemistry to effectively eliminate the need for perfluorochemicals within our portfolio of rubber release agents,” says Dr. Korthals.
